Construction Employment News: January 2021
Here’s a look at employment moves that occurred in the construction industry this month.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction
Ben Saukko was named director of communications for Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a national construction management firm and general contractor. Saukko will support and activate AP’s business strategy through internal, external and executive communications.
BigRentz
Tom Belmont joined BigRentz as chief operating officer, bringing more than 30 years of experience and expertise in operations, quality, business development, strategy, integrations, and mergers and acquisitions. BigRentz is the nation’s largest equipment rental network.
Heather Dodson joined Brown and Caldwell as its new Pittsburgh leader, part of the company’s continued expansion to better serve clients in the Northeast’s municipal and private water, wastewater and stormwater sector. Brown and Caldwell is an environmental engineering and construction firm.
DonahueFavret Contractors
Max Ferran was named vice president/director of operations for DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc., which specializes in health care, hospitality, retail, and commercial construction and renovation in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.
Fecon
Mark Middendorf was promoted to senior vice president of sales for Fecon, a manufacturer of vegetation management and land clearing equipment. Middendorf will oversee the global sales effort for all Fecon products.
Heartland Construction, Inc.
TJ Canfield was promoted to vice president of Heartland Construction, Inc., which delivers building solutions through preconstruction, construction management, general contracting and design-build services. Canfield will oversee business opportunities in coordination with the business development and preconstruction departments, as well as provide administrative oversight of corporate-level budgeting.
JLL
Robert Coughlin joined JLL’s Brokerage team as managing director in the firm’s Life Sciences industry practice in early 2021. JLL is a professional services firm that specializes in real estate and investment management.
John J. Campbell Co.
Brian Shive was promoted to vice president of John J. Campbell Co., which specializes in commercial and industrial new construction and roof replacements for manufacturing, industrial, retail, office and warehouse/distribution facilities. Shive will provide leadership, oversight and direction to the company.
Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute
Ray Clark was named executive director of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) of Georgia/Carolinas, which is a technical institute for the precast concrete structures and systems industry. Clark has served as an associate director on the Georgia/Carolinas PCI Board of Directors and was chair of its Education Committee, and has served on the Board of Directors of the PCI Foundation, PCI, National Precast Concrete Association and Canadian Precast Concrete Institute.
StructionSite, Inc.
Mike Almeida was hired as head of sales and Priyank Savla was hired as head of marketing for StructionSite, Inc., a provider of intelligent project tracking software for the construction industry. The hires are in response to increased demand, with the company experiencing many new and expanded customer relationships. StructionSite, Inc., is part of ABC’s Tech Alliance.
Suffolk
Ken Summers joined Suffolk—a national builders and real estate enterprise—as general manager for Los Angeles, and will help expand the company’s presence in Los Angelos and southern California.
The Beck Group
Ben Bard was promoted to chief operating officer (COO) of The Beck Group, an integrated architecture and construction firm. Bard previously served as regional director of the firm's Atlanta office. Bard succeeds Paul Higgins, who was COO and is retiring this year after 39 years with the firm.
