Construction Employment News: April 2022
Here’s a look at employment moves that occurred in the construction industry this month.
ABC
Jeffrey Nilsen was named president of the the Greater Houston Chapter as former president Russell Hamley retires after 26 years of service.
Sixteen attorneys joined Adams and Reese LLP as part of company’s expansion and combination with Cotney Construction Law LLP, a full-service legal and consulting firm serving the construction and infrastructure industries. These additions join Adams and Reese's current roster of 58 construction attorneys and takes the group to 75—one of the largest construction practices in the country.
Tyler Powell was promoted to project executive and Tyler Baldridge was promoted to senior project manager of BELL Construction (BELL). Powell has been a member of the company since 2016 and has been with BELL for 14 years. Baldridge is involved with the ABC Greater Tennessee Chapter Emerging Leaders group. BELL provides general contracting, design-build and construction management services across multiple sectors.
Callahan Construction Managers
Christina DeGroote joined Callahan Construction Managers (Callahan)—a full-service construction firm—as chief financial officer. DeGroote, who joined Callahan in September 2021, leads financial operations, human resources, technology and strategy.
Ara Eckel was named director of product management for the JLG Industries’ connected solutions platform team and will drive the connected channel strategy. In addition, Daliborka (Dali) Ribeiro was named director of product management for JLG® and SkyTrak® telehandlers. She will lead the product plan and drive the direction and implementation of its telehandler go-to-market strategy. JLG Industries, Inc., is an Oshkosh Corporation company and a global manufacturer of mobile elevating work platforms and telehandlers.
Laura Shivers was promoted to vice president of Johnson Carlier—an Arizona based subsidiary of Big-D Companies—and is responsible for the preconstruction, business development, marketing and administrative teams, as well as securing new business and accelerating growth. Johnson Carlier is an independently managed general contractor providing construction management, design/build and CMAR services throughout the Southwest.
Steve Roggeman was promoted to president of McCann Industries—a heavy equipment and construction supply dealer—previously working as CFO of the company for nine years. Former president Jim McCann will remain CEO of McCann Industries and will focus on opportunities to grow the business.
David Gotschall, a leader in aviation engineering and construction, joined Woolpert as a project manager. In addition, Darryl Henderson joined the company as managing principal to guide the firm’s local buildings practice in Virginia. Woolpert is an architecture, engineering, geospatial and strategic consulting firm.
