3Dazer laser measuring device works with a user's smartphone or iPad. The 3Dazer Laser Distance Measuring Solution and App syncs the measurements from the laser to the app. Users can organize projects, create floor plans, label pictures taken on-site, put voice memos on pictures taken on-site, add the measurements taken from the laser to photos, keep client contact information, manage projects and more.

Kogniz AICam artificial intelligence surveillance camera identifies people and threats in real time using video-based facial recognition and object detection. Kogniz instantly identifies people of concern, such as a known criminal or ex-employee and alerts the business when that person is identified. Kogniz identifies and remembers suspicious behaviors, allowing it to track visit patterns, dwell time and other attributes that can help to identify patterns of suspicious behavior. Kogniz stores relevant video in a private and secure cloud vault that can be accessed from anywhere.

Trimble® TSC7 Controller field solution for land and civil construction provides a tablet experience with a physical keyboard and a sunlight readable 7-inch touchscreen that supports pinch, tap and slide gestures. Users can zoom, pan and select items on the large touchscreen. Front- and rear-facing cameras allow users to video conference their office from the field for on-the-job support and capture high definition videos and images that provide valuable context to their data and clients. Trimble also released two new rover systems for civil engineering and construction applications—the Trimble Siteworks Positioning System for Construction Surveyors and the Trimble Siteworks Positioning System for Supervisors, featuring Trimble Siteworks Software that has configurable views, colorful graphics and natural interactions and gestures.

Software & In the Cloud

Bluebeam’s new Revu 2018 features a new interface and enhancements designed to maximize productivity, improve predictability and fast-track new users while supporting existing workflows. With NavVis M6 reality capture indoor mobile mapping system, AEC professionals can access large-scale indoor mapping projects and factory planning to create and update as-built BIM models and construction monitoring. The NavVis M6 captures 360 degree immersive imagery, photorealistic point clouds, Bluetooth beacons, WIFI signals and magnetic field data. The NavVis M6 features a mobile LiDAR system and 6D simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology.

Autodesk’s InfraWorks and Autodesk Civil 3D 2019 provide enhancements for closer collaboration, improved design, efficient drawing production, tighter interoperability and smoother data exchange. Teams can collaborate on InfraWorks models using the Autodesk® BIM 360® platform. Civil 3D users can define a new type of fixed vertical curve in an alignment profile and save multiple drawings and template files with Autodesk Batch Save Utility. Changes to InfraWorks bridges can be dynamically updated in Revit. Component roads imported from InfraWorks will automatically become Civil 3D corridors of simple assemblies and subassemblies.

Partnerships & Acquisitions

Trimble is acquiring Viewpointfrom Bain Capital in an all-cash transaction valued at $1.2 billion. Viewpoint is complementary to Trimble’s e-Builder and will extend Trimble's ability to provide more complete and integrated project, jobsite and business workflows across the construction lifecycle. Viewpoint scalable construction management software integrates a contractor’s financial and resource management to their project operations and to their jobsite and field. Viewpoint complements Trimble’s recent acquisition of e-Builder, a SaaS-based construction program management solution for capital program owners and program management firms.

BirdDogHR's partnership with integrations provider Ryvit allows for integrations with ERP, HRIS and payroll software systems. BirdDogHR customers who use Sage 300, Viewpoint Spectrum and Viewpoint Vista ERPs can now transfer data seamlessly between their ERP and the BirdDogHR platform; additional systems can be integrated on a case-by-case basis.
