The office is where workers spend most of their time, so it is essential to keep the office as comfortable as their homes. When planning to renovate an office, it is vital to include each area’s lighting design for a better working environment. Aside from improving the employees’ mood, it could also significantly impact every client or guest who visits the building. To make this possible, most modern companies focus on on the creativity and functionality of their lighting designs.

Here are some of the modern commercial office lighting trends building owners and contractors should consider.

1. Targeted lighting

When aiming for a more comfortable and stylish workplace, setting up desk lamps is the ideal choice. It gives a cozy vibe to individual spaces, as if employees are working in their home. There are also various designs, colors and types of this in the market that can give more room for customization.

However, if staff prefers to have more space on their desks, it is easy to make them look more functional by using floor lamps, which are ideal for smaller offices that need supplemental light. Meanwhile, using task lights could also be another option for small spaces, and it is better to place them in specific areas that need illumination. Task lights also are ideal for enhancing the focus of the employees while working.

On the other hand, if there needs to be targeted lighting on the kitchen and pantry, consider putting up under-cabinet lights, which will add to the office’s stylish and relaxing vibe, and enhance the employees’ mood.

2. Aesthetic lighting

Adding more designs and creativity to an office can be beneficial in many ways, as it can help boost the morale of employees and improve the impressions of clients on the company. Because pendants are hanging lights, it could also help the staff focus on their tasks.

Other companies prefer working in dim environments to ease professional tension. The key here is to make the office not feel too formal without making it feel too unprofessional. It can keep the employees feeling more relaxed and help those sensitive to too much lighting.

However, if the owner wants to balance overhead lighting in the office while keeping a modern feel, installing recessed lighting is also possible. It can give a minimalist and functional vibe to the office, providing illumination on larger areas such as function halls, lounge spaces and hallways.

3. Budget-friendly lighting

Everyone wants to keep things beautiful without overspending. If the company is tight on budget or wants to save more, there are still some more options. Natural lighting can be abundant, and nothing can beat its benefits for the office. It is best to install large windows or domed roof hatches for the office to let the sunlight through.

Moreover, adding some track lighting in the office also plays an excellent part for more illumination. It is a good option for tight-budget companies as it does not cost much, and it is possible to use LED bulbs with it.

Designing the office lighting is crucial as it will reflect the company’s brand and status in the market. It could also impact the impression of the clients on the brand’s management and character. Aside from adding more style, it is also essential to keep everything functional.
