Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam (R) enacted House Bill 24 to create the Go Build Tennessee program, which will use excess revenue collected by the Board of Licensing Contractors (from fines, applications and renewals) to increase recruitment of high school and college students into the construction industry. Program initiatives include multimedia advertising, promotional materials, media campaigns and website development—all of which are overseen by a nonprofit corporation comprised of members of Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated General Contractors of Tennessee, Home Builders of Tennessee and Tennessee Road Builders Association
