The New York State Legislature budget for 2015-2016 includes a two-year renewal of design-build authority for select agencies, including the Department of Transportation; the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation; the Department of Environmental Conservation; and the New York State Bridge Authority. The state first approved design-build authority in 2011.

The reauthorization allows New York to continue to accelerate project delivery schedules, reduce project costs, create jobs and fully engage private sector efficiencies in the development of public infrastructure projects. The state budget also includes $65 million for large-scale infrastructure projects.
