If you wrote a book, what would you title it?
“Stop Telling Yourself Stories! You Can Do It,” because the stories that we tell ourselves about why we can’t do something are what hold us back from our full potential.

What does the future look like for women in construction?
To speak candidly, I don’t think there are any barriers preventing women from pursuing a career in any industry. So, I’d say that the future for women in construction is exactly the same as it is for men in construction.

What keeps you inspired?
The future keeps me inspired. I believe that we are in a time of transformation in the construction industry as technology, the model and manufacturing converge. To me, it’s really inspiring to see thought leaders come together to ask, “How can we build more effectively in the future?”

What is your favorite family tradition?
My two children are grown now but, since they were little, Santa would bring them new pajamas on Christmas Eve. This past year I was so busy and thought the kids had outgrown the gesture, so I just decided to skip it. Fast forward to after dinner on Christmas Eve, I had two adult children (and a daughter-in-law) who were genuinely upset that there were no pajamas from Santa. At that moment, I realized how special this tradition was for them.

What is your favorite piece of construction technology?
I am excited the most about the embedded data in the model. I am looking forward to leveraging this data to help us make better decisions through the entire life cycle of the project: from preconstruction, to models, to manufacturing, to installation and on to facility management.

What is the best trip you ever took?
The best trip I ever took was a sailing trip through the Greek Isles. It was so beautiful and captivating. The color of the blue water, the white houses and the pink flowers were stunning. The people were also amazing. I’d like to go back one day!
