Apps

Users of Equipment Trader’s mobile app can search for construction and earthmoving equipment by brand, category, dealer and location; filter by segment, price, rental, hours used, movement type, size, new or used, tagline; sort results by nearest, newly listed, newest, oldest, price or premium; and email, call or text the dealer or independent seller directly from the app. The Equipment Trader app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

Products

Multivista has launched 3D Images within its suite of documentation services for the construction industry. The service is powered by Leica BLK3D, a handheld 3D imager that allows real-time, professional grade, in-picture 3D measurement.

The Bosch GSB18V-535C 18C Brushless Compact Tough Hammer Drill/Driver features Bluetooth connectivity for enhanced tool control and detailed tool usage feedback, including battery charge status. The hammer drill/driver offers Bosch-exclusive kickback control and an efficient, maintenance-free EC brushless motor for tough driving and drilling applications–and it is lightweight, compact and cordless to boot.

MIPS brain protection system company and Swedish industrial safety company, Guardio, are releasing a MIPS-equipped industrial safety helmet. According to the CDC, the construction industry has the greatest number of traumatic brain injuries with 25% of construction fatalities caused by a TBI from 2003 – 2010. The MIPS brain protection system reduces the rotational motion transmitted to the brain from angled impacts to the head by absorbing and redirecting energies and forces.

Software & In the Cloud

eBacon software for payroll combines mobile time tracking, fringe benefit management, payroll and reporting. The software automatically assigns prevailing and fringe rates by job/task/shift/scheduled increase; calculates overtime by weekly vs daily and average rate vs in-effect rate; tracks minimum and maximum hour ratios; and calculates tax, workers’ comp, overtime and mandatory sick pay based on combination of employee address and job-site address.

DroneDeploy drone technology software generates 360 degree panoramic imagery to view jobsites and automatically counts and maps stockpiles/inventory/materials on construction sites. With the project overlay tool, project managers can view plan drawings over detailed images of the site to ensure proper grading, spot health and safety issues and plan delivery routes. A Procore and Autodesk Integration allows overlay of site images with drafting software to view plans for utilities, wastewater and equipment clearances.

Ehab data and process management platform automates many tasks on a construction project. The first module for suppliers and contractors tracks supplies, sends notifications when they are delivered and sends invoices and receipts when actions are fulfilled. The modular platform collects data across the built assets lifecycle that is accessible to users. Ehab automates back office, regulatory and management processes and through deep analytics, identifies problems before they arise and finds deeper meaning in platform wide data.

Autodesk’s integration between InsiteVR and Autodesk BIM 360 gives customers the ability to host group model reviews in VR. Instead of screensharing, team members can review models in an immersive 3D environment with a VR headset, including Facebook’s new Oculus Quest, or desktop. Stakeholders can experience designs, increasing understanding and confidence among collaborators. InsiteVR builds immersive communication software for the AEC industry to improve project delivery and reduce errors.

Autodesk has added construction cost management capabilities to Autodesk BIM 360 platform for managing cost-related construction activities in the cloud. Contractors can manage budgets and supplier contracts and streamline upstream and downstream change order workflows, creating clear accountability.

Buildertrend's cloud-based project management software tool for commercial builders, homebuilders, remodelers and specialty contractors has core features to digitize daily processes and streamline real-time collaboration throughout each phase of construction. The Buildertrend platform gives users a clear view of team responsibilities and schedules -- bringing project managers, contractors and vendors together through one powerful system.
