Sixty-two percent of construction small business owners have seen increases in revenue and 64 percent have seen profits increase, according to Hiscox’s eighth annual DNA of an Entrepreneur report, which surveyed more than 1,000 small and medium U.S. business owners. Additionally, 73 percent of construction small business owners increased their customer base during the past 12 months and 65 percent are optimistic about the year ahead.

Construction business owners’ work-life balance is improving, with 11 percent taking no vacation days, compared to nearly a quarter of respondents last year.
