NCCER has released two new training programs in response to the industry’s labor shortage and corresponding need for workforce development professionals and industry mentors.

The Construction Workforce Development Professional program establishes a standard (and certification) for the skills and knowledge a workforce development professional should possess. Curriculum topics include communication, marketing, recruitment, ethics and business plan development, as well as managing craft training programs and registered apprenticeships.

The Mentoring for Craft Professionals program outlines characteristics of effective mentors, as well as communication and conflict resolution techniques.
