About a year after OSHA’s new injury and illness reporting requirements took effect, the agency launched a webpage where employers can electronically report cases. Employers now have three ways to report incidents: electronically through the new web portal, osha.gov/report; by phone, (800) 321- OSHA; or at the nearest OSHA Area Office.

The regulation implements new deadlines and requirements for reporting severe injuries on the jobsite for all employers covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Act—even firms that are exempt from maintaining injury and illness records. If an employer fails to fill in mandatory fields on the reporting application, the incident report will not be accepted.
