The Department of Labor Labor issued a self-compliance tool to help people involved in operating a group health plan understand their responsibilities for provisions in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act related to part 7 of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. The tool also includes an informal explanation of the statutes, the most recent regulations and interpretations, and citations to the underlying legal provisions.
